Might be time for an updated tutorial, its been over 3 years. KUKA|prc has come a long way.

Tutorials / 3D Printing and Extrusion Video Tutorial
February 04, 2020, 01:31:31 PM
In this tutorial I teach you how to program your KUKA robotic arm to do 3D printing and extrusion for additive manufacturing and rapid prototyping. Detailing how to use Rhino3d, Grasshopper and KUKA|prc to generate parametric tool paths to print or extrude any shape with a KUKA robot.

If things go well, I'll be back at KUKA next week to try and solve my issue with mxA. Can't promise anything, but I'd be keen to get an introductory tutorial out.

Unfortunately, no change. KUKA suggested it may be a library issue, the KUKA has mxA 3 installed.

When attempting to connect via mxA the robot doesn't initialise, could it be a library error?

Support / Digital I/O Curiosities

While setting up a script that is using multiple digital outputs and I need to switch between two within 2 lines of KRL, the output src swaps the order of the $OUT variables. Doesn't happen if there's a line of KRL in between them, is there a purpose for this or a workaround?

Hi Andreas,

If you're getting serious about robotics, especially utilising parametric and computational control, I'd suggest you do significant amount of research prior to spending the money on mac Rhino. I, personally, made the switch back to PC due to the sheer amount of libraries and that parametric, at the moment, is mostly PC. Keep in mind Python in Rhino is Iron Python 2.7 also, which is built on Microsoft's .NET.

Just something to consider, good luck!

Tutorials / Video Tutorial - 5 Axis Milling
January 13, 2019, 11:20:06 PM
Hey Guys!

I was fortunate enough to have the chance to visit Johannes at his Creative Robotics lab late last year and filmed a couple tutorial videos and have finally found the time to record and upload the first one - an introduction to setting up 5 axis milling with KUKA prc. You can find it here:

Hope some of you find it helpful!
