In this role, you'll have the opportunity to apply your technical skills across a multitude of  projects, help grow a team of software engineers, and contribute to the development of net-new technology for the construction industry.

The role will focus on leading software and process development that relates to Robotics in Construction, Manufacturing, BIM automation, and Data Integration. The ideal candidate is a proven technical manager who is able to provide structure to ambiguity, lead creative processes, and implement the emerging software development practice at Simple Homes in regards to robotics, manufacturing, and the world of AEC

Founded in 2019, Simple Homes' mission is to increase access to extraordinary housing through technology-enabled design and Swedish-inspired off-site construction.

Headquartered in Denver, Colorado, we partner with builders and developers to design, manufacture and assemble high performance homes across Colorado. . Depending on the project and customer needs, our wall panels are manufactured with exterior cladding, windows/doors, insulation, and rough-in plumbing and electrical pre-installed. These panels are then assembled rapidly on-site by our highly trained team. Finish work is completed by our builder partners.

Our vision is to bring the best of Swedish off-site construction technology to the United States. Swedish builders have been building off-site for decades - producing beautiful, sustainable, attainable homes more efficiently and in a fraction of the time. We believe it is a working case study for how to build better.

Ultimately, our goal is the same as other pioneers in the industry: houses that are built better, built faster, and more affordable than what is possible today.

In this role, you will:
Act as a pioneering member of Simple Homes's Technology team.
Help Develop an Integrated Building System for the design, manufacture and delivery of Net Zero cottage-style single-family homes in Partnership with the DOE
Identify and help develop technology (e.g., robotics & automation) and processes/workflows that can be utilized to reduce the labor cost and increase productivity
Lead the vision and control the product experience for applications that the team develops
Help manage the software development life cycle through a Product Management Process.
Coordinate and manage information into tangible sprints for development.
Help lead the project management of complex software solutions.
Learn new technologies, and interfaces to various software and cloud platforms.
Identify opportunities for efficiency improvements. Enhance Simple Homes's goal of continuous improvement within our company, for our clients, and for the industry.
Contribute to Simple Homes culture of professional development and knowledge sharing by participating in and leading training efforts.
Work with Simple Homes executives to expand the partnership network of Venture Capitalists, start-ups, technology vendors, and academia.
Author thought leadership articles and white papers. Collaborate on company and partner research efforts to expand Simple Homes's brand and knowledge-sharing in the industry.


Apply if you have:
Bachelor's Degree or Master's degree
3+ years of experience in software development, robotic system integration and/or process engineering
Knowledge of BIM, VDC, and construction technology applications is a plus
Availability to work out from one our offices when circumstances permit
Understanding of software development languages and frameworks (C#, Angular, Javascript)
Understanding of cloud services (Azure, AWS)
Understanding of databases and data models (DynamoDB, CosmosDB, MongoDB)
Proactive and flexible attitude, willingness to take an "all hands on deck" approach

Even better if you have:
Experience in Manufacturing, Process Engineering and Computational BIM
Hands on experience as a carpenter or framer
Proven track record of effectively working with and/or managing teams remotely
The ability to work effectively in an extremely fast-paced, ambiguous environment
The ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects requiring frequent communication, organization, time management, and problem-solving skills
